I got bored, so, I'm blogging. I had to sit in class today and watch one of the most ridiculously boring instructional videos I've ever watched. Most instructional videos are boring, but being that I already know everything being told, I'd rather stab myself in the head with a pencil than sit around and watch this.
Good news, however. I received that long awaited tax return today. Now, I can finally breathe because my credit card is officially paid off. This will obviously improve my credit, which will allow me to buy a new PC.
So, now, I'm going to look hard for a new computer because mine is about 5 years outdated. The only thing I know for sure is that I want something with a 64 bit processor in it so I won't have to update it when Microsoft releases it's new version of Windows. I'm also going to make sure that chip is an AMD and not an Intel since Intel's are more likely to commit suicide on themselves. I'm going to see if I can just ride it out with the monitor I have now so that I'd just have to buy a new tower, to save money. If anyone has any suggestions on this matter, leave it on the boards in the Tech category.
Anyway, hope everyone has a good weekend. Be safe.
Peace,

Finally a day off...
Sure, I had Monday off too in a sense. But, at least my head doesn't feel like it's going to explode today like it did then.
Anyway, as you would expect, I plan on doing a whole lot of nothing. I might work on this monster a little or just work on my seasons in my basketball games on the Xbox. Speaking off, if anyone has Xbox Live, and you have either of the basketball games from ESPN for it, let me know. I'd like some competition and a reason to finally subscribe to Live. Just leave it on the boards.
For some reason, I'm still waiting for my federal tax return. Went to check on it last night online and it says it's set to be deposited Friday. Which raises the question: why in the world can't they just do it now? Because it appears they've processed everything. It just comes off as very annoying for me being that I can't pay my credit card off until I get that return. On top of that I got my state return a week ago... and Nebraska is notoriously slower that the federal government in every other year I've filed. I swear this page is turning into my own personal version of The Broke Diaries. But, what's one more day, right?
For those of you that actually read this stuff that know me from chat and wonder where I've been, I'll tell you. You can either find me on my board or my boy Jai's board. It's a lot more fun than chat in my opinion. None of the b.s.... it's nothing but real talk on there. Besides, it's not like anyone instant messages anymore.

No class for me today
All I gotta say is that my head is killing me right now. I woke up about 6:30 this morning and it was just ringing. I got up, took some pills cause it felt like sinus pressure, and all it did was clear my sinus passages. It didn't kill the pain though. With my morning class coming up at 9 am, I didn't think I would feel good enough to be there. So, I figured, I'd skip out on that class and just go to my afternoon printing class at noon. I slept a little, woke up, and still felt like shit. Understand that when you're doing printing, you're working around a lot of chemicals. Given that, I knew it would not be a good idea to go in because those fumes would just intensify the situation with my head. So, here I am blogging again because I have nothing better to do besides this and watching NFL Films on ESPN Classic.
I did go out last night, for once. Got a call from my boy Saturday saying to give him a call after I got off work Sunday and maybe we could watch the late game or something. So, I followed through on that since I haven't seen the kid in a couple of months and this is one of the folks I'm supposed to move in with in April. We chilled, watched Pittsburgh get their asses handed to them by New England, then ended up at the Penalty Box (one of the southside bars) afterwards to have a couple beers. Overall, it was a chilled night.
Anyway, I'm going to go eat my Subway in hopes it'll make me feel better.

Just passing time
I'm just sitting around between classes and thought I'd pass the time by blogging. So, here I am
It looks as that I'm going to be doing two more designs for my Design to Production class. I'm going to be making a greeting card and an envelope with stationary along with stationary to match. From there, I'll put it on film, use that negative to make a plate to have ready for printing on Monday. It's kind of an interesting process for me. I still feel it's not going to be anything I'll do for a living, as I still plan on doing web design. But, still interesting.
Anyway, that's all for now.

Just made a change
Incase you never look at this place, I just changed the colors. Nothing major, just thought I'd say that since I haven't blogged since Friday.
I'm also looking at changing the format of the sports blog being that I've gotten a little lazy with it. I think you'll notice those changes in due time.
Other than that, I'd have to say that's all. I'm going to go eat my chili burger now.

Things are looking up
For the first time in my memory, I actually received my W-2 before the end of January. So, needless to say, I took care of my taxes by telefile between yesterday and today. This means, within a week to 10 days I should be receiving a couple tax refunds along with my pay check to my account which will allow me to pay off my tuition, credit card, cellular bill, and my rent all in possibly one day. Bad news is I won't have but a little more than $40 left. In saying that, at least my biggest sources of stress will be gone.
I have to be straight, this whole deal has taken a toll on me and my body. I have knots all across my shoulder muscles and I've had many tension headaces and even some migraines that I would have to think to be related to stress. I also have a nagging cold sore that I can't seem to shake.
Thanks to Dr. King, I have the day named in his honor off from class and work on Monday, so, I'll have a chance to rest and be lazy. I'll probley end up doing some typing for one of my classes, but I'm not looking at spending much time on that. It's a day off, I'm taking it.
Speaking of Dr. Martin Luther King, please take the time to pay some sort of respect to that man. He is someone who I feel is the most important social figure this country has ever had. Although we're not quite to the point he wished we could of been in his "dream", the strides this country has made in the rhelm of social tolerance have been huge. I say that not only on terms of race, but with other issues such as religion, sexual preference, and culture. We can only hope that this nation continues to moving that same direction for future generations.
That's all from me...

I hope it's over soon
Well, I tried to apply for a student loan today so I can get my text book and some supplies for my Publishing Concepts course. Got denied for that loan. So, I have to find some way to improvise for about a month until my IRS check comes in. Of course, none of this would be a problem if I'd kept my grades in check before. Apparently, I have to pass through this quarter in order to get my pell grant back. But, none of that does me any good now. In anycase, I'm tired of money stressing my ass out. At least I'm not the only one who's broke.
In another attempt to save money, it looks like I'll be switching my cell over to Cingular. I'll be saving money by jumping into a family plan with my mom. She's wanting to get rid of her home phone, because Alltel sucks, and if used right, a cell phone could be a cheaper answer. I'm looking forward to it because I hate my phone and have been dying to get a Motorola, something Cingular offers and Sprint doesn't.
But, like I said on New Years, I'm trying to cut costs where I can. I'm hoping to stick to that resolution.

The boards are runnin
The message boards are up and running, finally. I'm hoping that they become a lot of fun for everybody.
Just click on "boards" up above, get signed up, and chat away. I'm really hoping that it'll keep moving.
I've also done away with the tag board and replaced it with a guestbook. I feel that the guestbook could be a little more formal. Be sure to sign that on the way out and tell me what you think or just show some love.
That's all for now.
Peace,

Snow Day

I got my wish: NO CLASS!!! I just wasn't really in the mood to go back today, on what was supposed to be my first day back.
So now, I get two days to do absolutely nothing. With no class today and no work today and tomorrow, I'm free to basically vegetate. Today will probley end up being my sleep and laziness day. That's just a general habit I have whenever I have two days off in a row. First day, I sleep, second day I actually move.
It's not like anyone would want to go outside today unless forced. We already have 3-4 inches of snow on the ground with another 5-8 expected. There's even a possibility of thundersnow, which is basically a downpour of snow coming at rates of about 3 inches an hour with, yes, thunder. On top of all that, the windchills are expected to be below zero all day.
I may see what my boy is up to later since I'm sure he doesn't have class either. Other than that, I'm planning on staying warm
That's all...

I guess we're due
Looks like the weather here is going to get nasty here. We've already seen freezing rain over the last two days and now there's talk of possibly a foot or more of snow coming in. As of right now, this is the first time in the 10+ years that I've lived here that I've seen every county in Nebraska under a winter storm warning.
All this comes a day before I'm supposed to start classes again for my degree. I'd have to think there's at least a chance that I may not go to class tomorrow morning, even with the college's history of almost never canceling classes. That would be fine with me as I'd have basically two days off in a row without doing anything.
But, like I said, we're due. Last month was the first December on record where there was no measurable snowfall for the month. Infact, it was near 50ยบ on Christmas Day.
But, that's Nebraska weather for you.
Peace,
Skoo
